The Lofoten archipelago is characterized by its magical light and its rugged, raw nature. At 68 degrees north, it is located in the Arctic Circle. With its steep mountains jutting straight out from the sea, white sandy beaches and small fishing villages with picturesque red shacks, Lofoten is a destination unlike any other.
You can get to Lofoten by plane, car or ferry! Either way, it's an adventure of a lifetime with stunning views as far as the eye can see. They don't call it the 'Caribbean of the Arctic' for nothing!
From Oslo, you can fly into EVE, SVJ or LKN. Prices and distances vary. Regardless, you'll need to rent a car. If you want to take a ferry, there are option with Hurtigruta and other ferries from the mainland. Traveling by car, you will use 'Lofast', the Lofoten mainland connection road (E10). This takes you all the way across the archipelago and is part of the 'National Scenic Routes' of Norway.
